Chili Oil Pasta 🌶️🍝

Servings: 1 | Prep time: 5 min | Cook time: 15 min

Ingredients:

  • 75 g spaghetti or linguine

  • 2–4 tbsp chili oil (adjust based on preferred spiciness)

  • ½ onion, finely sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup reserved pasta water (adjust as needed for sauce consistency)

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper, to taste


Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta:

    • Boil pasta in salted water until al dente.

    • Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining. Set aside.

  2. Sauté aromatics:

    • In a pan, heat the chili oil over medium heat.

    • Add the sliced onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant and lightly golden.

  3. Build the sauce:

    • Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.

    • Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.

  4. Combine pasta and sauce:

    • Add the cooked pasta to the pan.

    • Slowly pour in the reserved pasta water a little at a time until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.

    • Toss well to coat the pasta evenly, giving it a glossy finish.

  5. Serve:

    • Plate immediately and enjoy while warm.


Tips:

  • Adjust the amount of chili oil to control the heat. Start with less if unsure.

  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of parmesan or nutritional yeast on top.

  • Fresh herbs like parsley or basil work well as a garnish.

  • If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more pasta water or cream to loosen it.
