5-Minute Silken Tofu 😍

A low-effort, melt-in-your-mouth tofu dish that’s incredibly flavourful, comforting, and ready in minutes. Perfect as a quick snack, side dish, or served with a warm bowl of rice 🍚🌶️


Ingredients

  • 1 pack silken tofu

  • 1–2 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp green onions, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp (20 mL) soy sauce

  • 1/2 packed tsp brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1–2 tsp your favourite chilli crisp

Garnish

  • Extra green onions

  • Sesame seeds

  • Fresh sliced chilli


Method

  1. Prepare the tofu
    Open the tofu pack and gently drain any excess liquid.
    Transfer the tofu onto a plate and heat it in the microwave for 2–3 minutes.
    You can also steam it or eat it cold—silken tofu is already cooked during production.

  2. Make the sauce
    In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and chilli crisp.
    Mix well until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Serve
    Pour the sauce evenly over the warmed (or chilled) tofu.
    Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh chilli.
    Enjoy immediately — especially delicious with a bowl of hot rice!


Tips for Best Results

  • Handle silken tofu gently — it breaks easily, so use a wide spoon or tilt the plate instead of lifting.

  • Adjust the heat level by adding more or less chilli crisp.

  • For extra flavour, add a splash of rice vinegar or a pinch of MSG.

  • If serving cold, let the sauce sit for 1–2 minutes so the garlic softens slightly.

  • Great protein boost — this dish pairs beautifully with steamed veggies or noodles.
